Wayne Ronald Wright's Obituary
Lakeview-Wayne Ronald Wright, age 92, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2018 at Lakeview Kelsey Hospital with family by his side. Wayne was born on November 18, 1926 in Lakeview and lived there all of his life. Wayne was the 4th child of Lloyd and Nelda (Faling) Wright. He attended Lakeview schools and enlisted in the United States Army during WWII. During his enlistment he spent his time in Tokyo Japan. On June 3, 1950 Wayne married Joyce Johnston in Morley. They were happily married for 68 ½ years. He was a very gentle and hardworking man. He owned and operated a soft drink distributing route for many years. He also owned his own grocery store, Wrights IGA Store in Lakeview for 6 years and retired from Federal Mogul in Greenville after 15 years of service. Wayne is a member of the VFW post 3701 in Lakeview. In his younger years, he was the President of the Lions Club, and a Den Father in the Cub Scouts. He also helped build the Tamarack Sportsmen Club. He loved to snowmobile at their place in Hoxeyville, playing golf, hunting and fishing; especially with his sons and friends on many trips to Canada. He was a good husband, dad and grandpa. He loved his great grand kids, and watching the Detroit Tigers on TV; win or lose.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Joyce Wright of Lakeview; 3 sons, James (Barbara) Wright of Belding, Jerry (Glenna) Wright of Cowden Lake; Coral, Steven (Becky) Wright of Lakeview; 7 grandchildren, Tracey (Oren) Diehl of Blanchard, Jason and Arron Wright of AK, Mark(Kristy) Taylor of Lakeview, Jessica (Kyle) Kurtz of Ridge Crest CA; China Lake US Naval Base, Mandi (Anthony) Kruithoff of Lakeview and Micheal (Samantha) Wright of Lakeview; great-grandchildren, Heather and Megan Diehl, Caitlyn Kurtz, Jarod and Ashley Taylor, Jessica Borema, Madison and Kaleb Kruithoff, Kinsleigh Wright; sister-in-law, Doris Wright of Greenville; and many special nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Charlotte Thompson, brothers Otis and Burdette Wright; one great-grandson, Cody Kurtz, who passed on August 12, 2018; 1 sister-in-law and 5 brother-in-laws.
Joyce wishes to give a special, and heartfelt thank you to the staff at Spectrum Health-Kelsey Campus Long Term Care Unit for the excellent care he received during his stay.
According to the family's wishes, no services will be scheduled at this time.
