William "Bill" Alan Delo's Obituary
Lakeview-William "Bill" Alan Delo, age 77, of Lakeview passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Story Point Senior Living in Rockford. He was born in Edmore on September 10, 1945, to Alvia and Bertha (Smith) Delo. Bill was raised in the Blanchard area where he attended the Delo Country School near Winn and Blanchard High School, graduating at age 16. He continued his education at Central Michigan University. Bill was employed in Industrial Sales by Mansco, Grainger and Orbit Bid throughout his career before retiring in 2018. He married the love of his life, Yvonne Kay Foster on April 15, 1967, at the Blanchard of God. Bill was a giving, loving, humble man that was a jokester with a big smile, who showed a pursuit of excellence in everything he did. During his lifetime he owned over 34 cars, but the black corvette was definitely his favorite. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, antiquing, NASCAR and was passionate about collecting hats. Bill was a member of Blanchard Church of God, the Mason's in Winn, and the Grand Valley Corvette Club where he also served as president. Bill forever will be missed and is survived by his wife, Yvonne of Lakeview; daughters, Amy Delo of Jenison, Amber (Scott) McKnight of Rockford; grandson, Connor McKnight; many grand animals; sister, Dorothy Gyger; sister-in-law, Marilyn Delo; extensive number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvia and Bertha; brother, Stanley Delo; and brother-in-law, Richard Gyger. Funeral services for Bill will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Brigham Funeral Chapel in Lakeview. The family will greet friends from 5:00-8:00 PM for a time of visitation on Friday, June 23 at the chapel. Because of Bill's love of hats, everyone is encouraged to wear one to the service.
