Our sincere condolences to Shirley and the family at Bill’s passing. With great sadness we heard the news of a good friend for many years who I knew both within the company and after retirement.
I remember his excitement during one of our work trips when we surprisingly were able to obtain tickets from Durango to Silverton on a big steam train. We both shared a love of model steam trains and layouts, and talks about his favorite subject!
We remember the fun of the 2 week winter trip with Bill and Shirley touring Christmas markets through France and Germany prior to Bill’s retirement, while we were stationed with Ford in Europe.
Bill was always helpful, serious about tasks, calm in manner. I was especially thankful for his help while in Europe because he was a good listener and decisive. Certainly he will be missed by many at Ford. And we will miss his Christmas newsletter always full of hope and good cheer.
In our church we say he is now in a place of sweet repose where all suffering, sighing, and sadness have fled away. May his ‘memory be eternal’.
