Bud D Longnecker's Obituary
Bud D. Longnecker, age 84, of Edmore, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2019 at MidMichigan Medical Center - Gratiot, Alma. The son of Howard & Ethelyn (Kuster) Longnecker, he was born on May 29, 1935 in Edmore, Michigan. He lived in the Edmore area virtually all of his life graduating from Edmore high school and then Central Michigan University. On November 27, 1957 in Edmore he married Emily J. Longnecker. Together they enjoyed almost 59 years of marriage and raised two children. Bud retired from teaching and coaching at Montabella high school in 1988 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed CMU sporting events and spending time with his granddaughters, farming, golfing and visiting with friends at the coffee shop. He was currently serving on the Montcalm Area Intermediate School District board and board President of the Montcalm Public Employees Credit Union having represented the community on several public boards for 51 years, in addition to being a long-time active member of Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Emily; and a daughter-in-law, Kris Longnecker. Survived by his son, Craig Longnecker & daughter-in-law Michele Montmorency of Haslett; a daughter, Lisa Longnecker of Blanchard; his beloved granddaughters, Kaylee Closson and Bailey Kauffman, both of Blanchard; sister Betty Torre, nephews Jason Torre and Sean Torre of Northport, New York; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore with visitation one hour prior to the service as well as Friday, September 27, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Faith United Methodist Church of Edmore.
