Dale Ernest Reeves' Obituary
age 84, of Mecosta, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the V.A. Ann Arbor Health Care Facility surrounded by family. A funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 19, at 1:00pm, at Hansen Janowicz Funeral Home in Remus. Pastor Donald Ferris-McCann will officiate with burial to follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Hersey Township. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and again from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Dale was born July 26, 1929, the son of Ernest and Doris (Dusler) Reeves. On January 16, 1954, he married the love of his life, Edith Peterson.
Dale was a life member of the VFW Post 1454 in Alma, past president of the Mecosta county Rod and Gun Club, held various positions in the Michigan United Conservation Clubs, and was a member of the Stanwood Eagles Club as well as the Amvets of Lakeland, FL.
Dale was strong, focused, and had a great dedication to conservation. He loved fishing, hunting, trapping, and NASCAR, but his love for the Detroit Tigers is what brought him and Edith to spend many “Spring training days” in Lakeland, FL.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Edith; children, Dawn (Bruce) Levey of Elsie, MI, Lois (Donald) Fournier of Sheridan, MI, Craig (Sharon) Reeves of Wellford, SC, and Allen Reeves of Ionia, MI; brother, Lynn Reeves of Newaygo; 11 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Norma Clodfelter and Donna Brock, and brother, Wayne Reeves.
