Forrest and I will miss seeing Dave up at SKLD. I always stopped and chatted with him for a few minutes when I entered the dining room. I told Jackie about a time a few weeks ago when SKLD served refried beans as part of the dinner meal. I said to Dave, "Do you know what that looks like?" He got a smile on his face and said, "Naughty girl." So funny. I am glad I had a chance to hold his hand the evening of July 10. I entered SKLD with my son to celebrate my birthday with Forrest and my family, and I saw Dave in his wheelchair at the nurse's station. He saw me and reached his hand out for mine. As I held his hand, he whispered that he wanted to go home. I told him, "I know Dave." He was a dear man who will be missed greatly by all of his friends and table mates (Rex, Larry and LaDonna) at SKLD. Mary Alice and Forrest Homkes
