Oh my dear friend, how you will be missed. Yet I know that you are now in the presence of our Lord and Savior and we will meet again in heaven. Your sweet smile and joyous nature will always stay in my heart. Whether it was making pies (hundreds of them) at New Hope Church, golfing, boating or going to dinner, you were always a ray of joy in my world. And to Jim, may God bless you and keep you. We always lived far apart from one another, whether a few hours' drive, a few states away, the whole width of the nation or opposite sides of the planet. Across my entire life, going back to earliest memories of five or six years old, a visit with Aunt Betty was a matter of excitement; it meant loving warmth and laughs, fun and adventure. I deeply admire her and her husband James, Uncle Bob to me, and always have looked up to my cousins Jim and Brian. My and my wife Jennifer's hearts are with everyone throughout the Stewart family, and as well with my mom, Elaine, as we grieve. I picture Aunt Betty now with my dear grandparents, her folks, and with my dad and my brother and all other family members we've lost, who are holding places for us. I'll visit with her again; we'll hug and laugh and see about that next adventure.
I met Betty when she came to have lunch with her sister, Elaine. It was such a joy to witness the love these two have for each other. They seemed to communicate without words and finished each others sentences. I am so glad to have met her and witnessed this love. I have grown especially close to Elaine as we are neighbors in a rural area and when we visit, Betty and their shared adventures are part of it. I know she is heartbroken having lost her sister. Prayers to all the family in this time of loss.
