Dear Matt and family,

James was a wonderful friend and I am so sorry for your loss. His happy presence and fun loving spirit will be missed. James was willing to help his friends and family any way he could, and I knew that when he came down, things got done! I have fond memories of him sitting with Lydia when she was little and playing with water rockets under the trees. I also understood that there was a time when he felt that he needed to stay up north, and the challenges that he faced when he would come to town. I was happy that he found the strength he needed. When he visited this past fall, James seemed to have found a peace and contentment with his life. He was happy to be able to do the things that mattered to him. Most of all, I saw his face light up when talking about his grandchildren and the time he spent with them. We will miss his visits.

"Jim left us too soon. He loved the water. He started fishing with Dad rocking in row boats. Jim took his grandchildren swimming all year long, at the beach or the pool. They had lot's of fun wearing each other out! He will be missed."
