Jennifer L. Vaal's Obituary
The light in the family of Jennifer L. Vaal was dimmed on May 19, 2022, when she suddenly passed away while vacationing in Jamaica, ending a short but very full life.
Born on January 11, 1977 to Tony and Linda Vaal, Jennifer was the bright spark to their family along with her two brothers. She grew up sharing her talents by singing in her church choir and competing as a swimmer in High School with the butterfly being her best stroke; But by far her most important role was to protect her beloved brothers. Jenn was loyal and stayed in close contact with high school friends whom she considered sisters. A sporting fan and Michigan State Spartan to the core, she rooted for the Spartans as well as the Detroit Red Wings with a passion.
Making the most of each day, Jennifer cherished her moments with her two dogs Diesel and Zoey. Diesel kept Jenn busy playing tug of war and Zoey grabbed her affection with her love of fetch and begging for treats. Jenn adored her two nieces whom she loved as close as one would their own children. She was happy to spoil the girls with endless amounts of stuffed animals and gifts for every holiday and special event throughout the year, always weighted with the love she had for the girls.
With family being her top priority, Jennifer recently moved to the Canadian Lakes area to care for her parents and poured her energies into opening Mema’s Treasures in Mecosta alongside her mother, Linda. She opened up her own office as a Financial Planner for Prudential in Mecosta earning awards and praise from her peers. Jenn was involved in WIFS (Women in Insurance and Financial Services) Michigan Chapter. Serving on the board as President and recently Treasurer. She quickly became invested in the community and joined the GFCW (General Federation of Women Club) in Mecosta and was looking forward to being an active member. Jennifer tackled all roles with ease and was a rock for her parents during this phase of their lives. Her smile was infectious among those who visited Mema’s to find a unique treasure.
Joyful to the end, Jennifer will be sorely missed by her beloved parents, Tony and Linda; brothers Tom and Tim; Sister in law Michelle; and beloved nieces Stella and Simone.
