Joseph Mark Cullen, age 66 of Remus, passed away peacefully Nov. 29, 2016 at his home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 3rd at St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus at 11:00 AM. Fr. Tom Boufford will officiate with Read Obituary
After many years I wanted to find Joe, but found his obituary instead. We were in an evening jewelry class at College for Creative Studies and became friends. He was a kind, thoughtful man who had a great sense of humor, was easy to talk to and enjoyed life. He gave me a piece of his art that I will treasure always and will remember him by. My sympathy to his family. I wish we had been able to meet again, but will always remember the short time we knew each other.

I am grateful to all the help Joe gave on many projects. Even though we were all subcontractors, he work hard and late to get some of the early projects at Meijer Gardens off the ground. He also worked on getting woodwork stripped and walls painted and patched in my house. He was always a good conversationalist with a broad range of knowledge and enthusiasm. I am not ready for him to be gone.
On behalf of the Gabriel Richard Catholic High School Alumni, staff, faculty and students we wish to express our deepest sympathy at this sad time. Joe was a graduate of the first graduating class in 1969. He will be remembered in our annual student mass at St. Anne in Detroit in the fall of 2017 as well as on our website. May God grant him eternal rest and may the perpetual light shine upon him.
