Obituary
Edmore - Karen Louise (Rose) Herington, age 59, of Six Lakes, passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2020 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland. Karen was born on August 23, 1961 in Corbin, Kentucky, the daughter of Clarence and Maxine Louise (Edgar) Rose. She was raised in St. Louis, MI, and graduated from St. Louis High School Class of 1979. Karen continued her education at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, receiving her bachelor's degree in 1999 and her master's degree in Clinical Psychology in 2001. Karen was employed by the Mid-Michigan Correctional Facility (Department of Corrections) in St. Louis where in the line of duty, she contracted COVID 19. Karen was overly dedicated to the mental health field working and helping others for over 25 years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, boating, repurposing lawn furniture with macramé, and going to the lake. Karen was a committed shopper but her love for family and friends will forever be her legacy. Karen met her husband Terry Lee Herington in November 2017 in Rockford and after a whirlwind romance the two married at Niagara Falls on July 25, 2018. It was a deep love with never a dull moment at their home.
Karen will be deeply missed by her husband Terry Herington of Six Lakes; children Joshua Rodriguez of Greenville, and Kristin (Kye) Wood of Six Lakes; stepchildren, Anthony (Niki Kolenda) Herington of Lansing, Tracey Herington of Alma, and Joseph Herington of Lansing; grandchildren, Brendan, Xavier, and Harmony; friends, coworkers, and everyone she helped daily. Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
