Marie Agnes Jordan Cook's Obituary
Marie Agnes Jordan Cook, age 94 of Edmore, MI, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025. She was preceded in death by husbands Leonard Jordan Sr., John Milburn, and Max Cook; son Paul; grandchildren Truitt Jordan and Trisha Jordan, and stepson Scott Cook. She is survived by sons Tim and Leonard Jr. (Tina), daughter-in-law Tena (Paul) Jordan and their families which included 7 beautiful granddaughters, 5 handsome grandsons, and 14 great-grandchildren; stepchildren Laura (Bill) Hudson, Marc (Evelyn) Milburn, Michael (Christine) Milburn, and Dan (Diane) Cook, Brad Cook, and Tammy (Scott) Cook. She also leaves her special friends Stephanie Kanine and Betty Jo Cogswell who visited and cared for her. She was born January 16,1931, in Grand Rapids, where she later met Leonard, and they moved to Edmore with their three boys Paul, Tim, and Leonard Jr. They bought Edmore Cleaners, where they worked together for 25 years. In that time, Marie also sold custom draperies. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore, where she was a member of many committees. She enjoyed the Red Hat Society and Edmore Women's Club, especially when hosting the May morning breakfasts. She enjoyed playing cards with her great friends. She was an avid gardener and truly had a love for her flowers. She golfed, played tennis, and fished in her early years. Most days you could find her in the kitchen, trying out recipes that she found in magazines. In her later years, sitting in the window brought her a lot of joy. She loved the Detroit Tigers and the Michigan State Spartans. Marie was a firecracker; known for her hats at church, always quick with a wise crack or just to tell you that she loved you more or triple. She inspired and was loved by many and will be missed tremendously, but she is now in her heavenly home sitting in the window watching over all of us. Family will receive visitors at Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore, on Friday, May 16, beginning at 10 AM, with a memorial service starting at 11AM.
