Opal Jean Underhill's Obituary
Opal Jean Underhill, age 92 of Lakeview, passed away in the loving care of her family and friends Saturday, March 28, 2015. A funeral ceremony in Opal’s honor will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Janowicz Family Funeral Home in Remus, at 12:00 PM with Pastor David Gotshall officiating. Burial will follow at the Altona Township Cemetery in Lakeview. Opal’s family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:30 AM to the time of service.
Opal was born February 23, 1923, the daughter of Almon and Nina (Potter) Bowman. After she married the love of her life, Henry, the two grew their family to include six children. She was a woman of great faith and was very involved at the Lakeview Seventh Day Adventist Church for many years.
Her kind heart will be greatly missed by her children, Henry D. (SanJuana) Underhill, Karen (Roy) Livermore, Ruth Derusha, Frank (Lu) Underhill, Bill (Debbie) Underhill and Nina Davis; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Henry Underhill; grandson, George Davis II; three son-in-laws, George W. Davis Sr., Raymond Derusha and Earnest DeMott; two brothers and three sisters.
