Paul William Nicholson's Obituary
Lakeview-Paul William Nicholson, age 76, of Lakeview passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior at Corewell Health Blodgett Hospital on Monday, January 6, 2025. He was born in Lakeview on December 27, 1948, the son of William and Evelyn (Warner) Nicholson. Paul was raised in the Remus area where he attended school in Barryton before returning to Lakeview, graduating with the Class of 1967. Paul proudly served in the US Army from 1968-1970, attaining the rank of sergeant while spending time in Viet Nam where he also earned 2 bronze stars. He married the love of his life, Janice Dawn Nelson on May 1, 1971, at the Lakeview Free Methodist Church where he was a lifelong member. Paul was employed by Spectrum Health as a Security Officer for over 26 years. He was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed working in his yard, watching the deer and birds. Paul loved his family deeply, as well as fast cars and John Deere tractors.Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Jan Nicholson of Lakeview; son, Christopher Nicholson of Lakeview; daughter, Jennifer Hight of Grand Rapids; several grandchildren; sisters, Eva Stein of Clare, Freda (Larry) Drake of Remus; many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Evelyn.A celebration of Paul's life will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Lakeview Free Methodist Church with Pastor Ted Johnson officiating.
