B. Paul Welch
My condolences to the many children and grandchildren as well as the hundreds of friends and the endless number of community members who owe the amazing Pauline Welch so much for her dedicated and energetic services to all of them over the years. I am but a distant Welch relative, but had the honor to work remotely in absentia with Pauline for about ten years or so on a family genealogical mission to which her contribution was most critical and exceedingly important. She represented the family broadcast station for all events that ever happened back to the early 20th century in all the families to which she had the slightest connection. She knew several family's stories in complete and sordid and vivid detail going back generations. She was then a walking history book so vast was her experience and knowledge. Britainica Encyclopedia had noting over Pauline Welch. A product of the Marchand Family, she partnered with IRA (senior) and produced not just a family, but an admirable and vibrant Society in Alma and Ithica and all he surounding towns. Her infectious optimism and hearty acceptance of all who she met and dealt with was the element of her character that, I am very sure, she used to thrive and survive many of life's most tragic events from persistent death, the addiction of community and family members she loved and casualties of life's vicissitudes which plague anyone living for such an extended period of lifespan as did Pauline Welch: what a full, fully rewarding life she had lived and lived it vibrantly for everyone around her too: she did so to the very last. She was of the toughest stock early Alma 20th century history could have offered the world and remained tough for all her days. I, for one, will miss her effervescent discussions of family history and the constant and proper bragging about her children she used to engage in with me for many satisfying hours providing family knowledge I would not have had were it not for Pauline Welch. Pauline will be very much missed, but her endless contributions, both small and large, will live on, even if not attributed to her directly. The act(s) of love she gave to everyone there will be here always and will grow like all other seeds of love have done for generations innumerable yet to come. May God Rest Her Golden Soul forever and ever; Amen B. Paul Welch Carlsbad California 858-523-1182
