At least 40 years ago I thought I'd have to report Jack to the police. He followed my family for many miles as we returned from OK after a long drive. He pulled into my parents' home when we did, only to say he wanted to talk to me about Oral Roberts University, the name of which was in our car's rear window. Ha! If memory serves me, his son Dan eventually attended ORU. What a pleasant, godly surprise! I thank God with you for his long ministry. Bob Braman, Stanton

Linda, Dave, Dan and Jackie, I have prayed for God's strength during this time for you. We all know therw was a celebration in heaven last Wednesday upon Brother Skirvin's entering there. He was my pastor twice in Benton Harbor at Faith Temple. Once as a young child, the next and last as a teenager. Brother Skirvin was instrumental in our family's growth and understanding of the Word. He exemplified the fruit of the Spirit. Thank you for sharing him with so many.
The world has lost a great man. I have nothing but admiration, love and respect for him and Sister Skirvin. He was always there when you needed him. I will never forget how he flew his plane up here from Benton Harbor Nov 9th, 1963 to Marry Buzz and I at the Tabernacle and then would not take any money from us! I hope he knew how much it meant to me! He was one very special person. RIP Brother Skirvin. You will never be forgotten. My sincere sympathy to his family.

The many great memories of my pastor jack skirvin . 1965 he led several teenagers in a bible quiz team. It was at that time I drew ever so close to this great man and his family, what I learned from his teaching I will forever keep in my heart. So many fond memories, so many unanswered questions, I once asked how and where he became so wise, for he was one of the most brilliant pastors i have ever known, he showed me his bible and his study bibles, and said all the answers was found in these books. He created in me a love relationship with jesus and God. For that i owe him a great debt that never can be paid. Because of the love of one man I found a thirst for god that so far cannot be quenched. 65 years I have had the pleasure of knowing this great man of God. I will miss him but the day will come when we will see each other again. RIP Pastor Jack
Pastor Skirvin was the pastor of my mom's home church. Although I saw him only a few times in my childhood, I remember him being a very kind man. My parents have nothing but good things to say about him and the positive impact he had on their lives and in reading other people's comments, his community. You've made it home, Pastor. No doubt you've heard, "well done my good and faithful servant." Say hi to Shawn and Christina for me if you bump into them.
My heart is breaking but I'm so thankful for all the wonderful memories and love from Pastor Skirvin. He was a second father to me and I knew I was loved and cared for. So many wonderful things he did for our family I could call anytime for prayer and he would pray. I loved hearing him preach God's word I learned so much. He brought the scriptures to life He preached truth My first plane ride was with Bro. Skirvin after he got his pilots license. He was so proud of his plane What a wonderful experience for me. So many memories and I'm so grateful that I was included. What did I do to deserve it. It's was God's love and grace. 😢💔. Prayers and hugs for the family We will meet again and rejoice in Heaven 🌹
