Richard James Heyart's Obituary
Richard "Rich" Heyart, born March 30, 1967, in Oscoda, passed away peacefully at the age of 57. Rich was the beloved son of Richard and Helen Heyart and grew up living in various locations due to his father's military service. He spent his childhood in Spain, Michigan, and North Dakota, gaining rich cultural and life experiences as his family moved between Air Force bases.
Rich pursued higher education at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. His professional career included working for Trefil Arbed, Walker EDM, and other companies, where he excelled until his retirement in 2010.
Following his retirement, Rich devoted his time to caring for his parents during their golden years, a role he fulfilled with compassion and love until their passing—his mother, Helen, in 2015, and his father, Richard, in 2018.
Rich is survived by a large extended family, including his aunt Mary Elizabeth Heyart, his uncle James Heyart, and Barney and Bernadine Witkowski, along with many cousins and dear friends. He will be remembered fondly for his kindness, loyalty, and the deep connections he made throughout his life.
In accordance with Rich's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate his life will take place on Saturday September 14th at 11AM at St. Michael Catholic Church with Father Tom Boufford as celebrant. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.
