Lakeview-Roger John Knox, age 88, of Lakeview passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. He was born on February 6, 1932 and was a lifelong resident of Millbrook Township where he attended the Fouts Read Obituary

I first met Mr. Knox about 20 years ago when he stopped by my house to tell me how nice my house looked as I was remodeling at the time. Whenever he drove by he would beep. When I saw him at the elevator we would talk. He was a very nice man and will be missed.
I didn't know Roger as much as others. I only saw him about 2 or 3 times a year. You see my dad and I hunt on his property and every time we got to his house, we would chat with him before we went out and at least check in right before we left. He was always in such high spirits when we sat at the picnic table and talked about how the crops looked this year or if he has seen many deer. A couple of summers ago, my dad and I brought up my two little boys and we got to show them where papa and I hunt. Roger thought they were such funny little rascals. I have nothing but fond memories of Roger and one regret... he wasn't home this year for opening day and so I never got to say good bye. Thank you Rodger, thank you very much!
Sincere condolences to the family of Roger Knox. We lived near them in my growing up years. Remember his entire family, such good, caring people. Roger was one of a kind, a true gentleman, respectful and friend to all. I'll miss his sweet smile and conversations. May he R.I.P. forevermore in Our Lord's loving arms.
I hunted Roger's farm now for 16 years He always was interested in our success because the deer ate up his garden. One time as I approached his house empty handed he asked me "how did you do today" I said " well Roger I didn't see any horns" his reply was "if you need horns I've got some you can carry in your pocket These deer are eating my garden and I need them gone" he always wanted to sit at the picnic table and talk, truly interested in what was happening in my family. A good honest old soul. I'll miss hunting his property but mostly I'll miss his company on those October evenings, see you on the other side old friend. You will be missed. Mark
