After a life of faith, Sally Larsen Fickes peacefully went home to be with the Lord on June 27, 2026, and now rejoices in the peace and joy of Heaven. Preceded in death are Sally’s parents, Albert and Beatrice (Cousineau) Larsen Read Obituary
I have such great memories of Mrs. Fickes. Our families would go up to Harbor Springs every February and go skiing from our condo. Mrs. Fickes was always wonderful at playing games. I loved to play Tripoli, Rummicube and cards with her. She and Mr. Fickes taught our whole family how to ski. She was always so fun and loving. One year, she was the sweetest thing and put all of our wet ski clothes in the dryer. To our dismay, The dryer was much more powerful than any of us could have imagined, and it melted our ski jackets. She felt so bad but we were completely fine with it because we got to get brand new ski clothes the next day. She was always so generous and kind especially to her family. I remember the one time Dan forgot his toothbrush so she let him use hers and unfortunately Dan got sick which meant Mrs. Fickes got sick. She always took one for the team I have such wonderful memories of her. She will be truly missed And I’m happy she is at a much better place in heaven.

At some of the quilt retreats of the Canadian Lakes Quilt Club I was very privaleged to share a room with Sally. I will always remember Sally as a very caring, personable woman besides being a very capable and amazing quilter. She could knit and sew very beautiful things. I will always remember how Soduko resolutions came to her so easily. Sally had a great mind, lots of beautiful things to share with others. The world has lost a beautiful person, heaven has gained another angel.
Aunt Sally was always so creative and caring. She and uncle David always hosted many family events where they were welcoming. I remember her organizing a birthday celebration for my mom when she turned 40 with a sign that read "lordy lordy, Beth is 40!" Thank you for being such a great Aunt. -Keely
