Steven George DeForest's Obituary
Edmore- Steven George DeForest, age 73, of Blanchard, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. Steve was born on July 16, 1949, to George and Eleanor (Esch) DeForest. He was raised in Blanchard and graduated from Montabella with the Class of 1967. After high school, Steve joined the Navy and served his country. He was employed at Hitachi for 35 years where he retired from when he was 53. In 1992, Steven and Lori Cross were married. He loved classic cars and went to many car shows through the years. Steve also enjoyed animals, gardening, and was very artistic. He was a member of the American Legion in Blanchard.Steve will be greatly missed by his wife, Lori DeForest; sisters, Susan Helfrich of Oregon, Illinois, and Sarah (Roger) Gann of Oregon, Illinois; and brother-in-law, David (Janet) Cross of Stanton.Steve was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Marvin Helfrich.A celebration of Steve's life will be held at a future date. Memorial contributions in Steve's memory can be made to the Humane Society
