So sorry to learn of your father's passing, Dave. Our family's thoughts and prayers will be with you and your entire family.
I would like to wish Phil, Dave and Stewart and their families the best. Wayne was a great Dad, Grandfather and a friend to many people in the area. Wayne also served his country well and was very
proud to be a WWII Veteran.
I would like to pay my condolences to you; Phil, and your family on the passing of your father. When someone passes it is a time for remembrances and although I didn't know your father, I did know
some of the children he raised, and especially a tow headed blonde, who worked extremely hard and who was an example of a person who was raised well by his father to further the next generation.
I would just like to pay respect to Uncle Wayne by saying how much I loved and appreciated him. If mom and dad hadn't taken me to Boot Lake growing up I would have never moved to the U.P. 26 years
ago and my life would be completely different. He was a wonderful family man and worked hard throughout his life, qualities I admire greatly. My ultimate respect comes from his heroic sacrifice to
serve his country in WWII thus providing us all the lives we live today. I will miss his storytelling at deer camp and the way he smiled when he told a joke. My thoughts and prayers go out to Aunt
Betty and the entire Scramlin family. Love you all.
I have so many found memories of my summer trips to the farm. Uncle Wayne taught me many life lessons. Three that come to mind are how to properly pass the butter at a dinner table, where a bear
goes, and the real name for cows.
I think my dads favorite time of year was deer camp, he loved going up there.
