William Robert Fleck's Obituary
William "Buck" Robert Fleck passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025. He was at home surrounded by his family and beloved dog, Mac.Buck was born on August 13, 1955, to Dorrence and Joan Fleck in Edmore, Michigan. He grew up in the Six Lakes area and graduated from Montabella Schools with The Class of 1973. From there he worked as a subsurface construction worker where he traveled all over Michigan. Buck then moved on as a powder maker for Hitachi Magnetics where he worked for over 18 years, during his time there he became the union president for UAW 1436. He retired when the plant closed in 2005.On November 30, 1985, Buck married Doris Jean McEwen. Together they shared almost 40 years of marriage. He and Doris raised four children and had the joy of being grandparents to eight grandchildren.Buck will be deeply missed by his wife Doris Fleck; children Meagan (Richard) DeHate, Tyrus (Sherri White) Fleck, Casey (Trenton) Taylor, Ally (Alexander Ciesielski) Fleck; family dog "Mac"; grandchildren Hunter, Ryder, and Tripp DeHate, Tatum Rice, Gage Fleck, Tyler Schultz, GraceLynn, and Miles Taylor; grand dog Tig Fleck; sisters Judy (James) Hunter, Kelly (Monte) Linton; brother Chad Fleck; stepfather Charles Large.Buck was happiest spending time with family or sharing a beer with his friends while watching the Tigers or Michigan game. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed his time hunting, fishing, or finding morel mushrooms in his secret spots. He will be missed by all who knew him and made an impact on many lives.Buck is preceded in death by his parents, brother Terry Fleck, and sister-in-law Debby Schultz.A celebration of Buck's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the family to help with Buck's medical expenses. The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Heartland Hospice, especially to Buck's nurse, Erika for her wonderful care.
